Three Wildcats Named In DCTF Top 500 Prospects List

Three Wildcats Named In DCTF Top 500 Prospects List
  • PublishedOctober 1, 2025

It’s been an incredible start to the year for the Sulphur Springs Wildcats, who have reached the halfway point of the season with a perfect 5-0 record and have climbed all the way to No. 6 in the rankings, according to Dave Campbell’s Texas Football Magazine. Now at the halfway point in the season, the magazine also released their list of the Top 500 Prospects In 2026, a list that had three Wildcats featured on it.

Vincent Johnson

One of the players featured on the list, to no surprise, was offensive lineman Vincent Johnson. The senior left tackle has anchored an offensive line that may just be the best in school history. Johnson’s play a season ago was good enough to earn Third Team All-State, and both Johnson and the offensive line as a unit have been even better this season. Johnson is ranked No. 9 at his position, by the magazine, and has already verbally committed to TCU.

Truth Holmes
Defensive lineman “Cowboy Truth” also made the Top 500 Prospects in 2026 list. Holmes is one of the veteran leaders on a Wildcats defense that is allowing less than 10 points per game this season and just earlier this week, Cowboy Truth announced via Twitter that he will be taking his talents to UTEP after his career with the Wildcats is over. For his career, Holmes has 116 career tackles, as well as nine tackles for loss, six sacks and nine QB hurries.

Grayson Hardy
The third and final Sulphur Springs Wildcat to be featured on the list is senior, Louisiana Tech commit Grayson Hardy. Hardy made the transition from safety to linebacker for the Wildcats this season, though the magazine listed him as a defensive back.
Hardy has put up what can only be described as video game like numbers in his career, as he’s currently amassed 333 career tackles, after leading the team in the category in both his sophomore and junior seasons. Hardy also has three career interceptions, as well as an impressive 16 career pass deflections, to go along with four fumble recoveries and two forced fumbles. Hardy excels at every level of the defense for the Wildcats and will be looking to do the same on Saturday’s after his career as a Wildcat is finished.
