  • PublishedSeptember 18, 2025

William Thomas Eshenbaugh, age 46, of Sulphur Spring, Texas passed away at his residence on Monday, September 8, 2025.
William was born Sep 4, 1979, in Natrona Heights, Pennsylvania to Jerome Robert and Leona Joyce (Swigart) Eshenbaugh. One of five children, William graduated from Valley High School in New Kensington, Pennsylvania. At age twenty, William decided he wanted to experience island life. After a few days at the Pittsburgh Meps, he got his wish and was sent to Paris Island, South Carolina US Marine recruit ptraining command. William proudly served his country as a United States Marine from August 16, 1999 to August 15, 2003. During this time, he was assigned to 1ST Battalion, 5TH Marines, 1st Marine Division, Fleet Marine Force, Camp Pendleton Ca. William completed his tour of duty in Iraq in 2003 earning the following awards: Combat action ribbon, Presidential Unit Citation, Good Conduct Medal, National Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon with Bronze Star, and the Rifle Sharpshooter Badge. After his service William relocated to Texas and was an active member of the Cross Spur Cowboy Church. He took great pride in showing up early to make, “Marine, not Navy, Coffee” and would stay after every service to clean up. William was a go to for anything on short notice for his church. He could often be found at Joe Bob’s getting breakfast and killing time before going to help any one of the elders of the church or anyone else that needed a hand in the community. To sum him up, William’s best times in life were when he was serving others; first as a US Marine, and then, through grace, as a child of God.
William is survived by his sisters; Tracey (James) Bruce, Sandra (Shannon) Lantrip, Kathy Fair; Brother, Jerome (Jerry) Eshenbaugh Jr.; fourteen nieces and nephews, and one great nephew, all of whom he loved dearly.
William was proceeded in death by his mother Leona Joyce and father Jerome Robert Eshenbaugh.
