Gala Goal Announced
Sulphur Springs, TX – The Hopkins County Health Care Foundation’s annual Gala is celebrating its 20th anniversary on January 24, 2026. This popular event has donated over $3.3 million which funded 35 projects for local healthcare during this timeframe. This is a significant portion of the almost $9 million raised through the Foundation’s 28-year history.
The Foundation Board of Directors have decided to donate $250,000 of the proceeds from the 2026 Gala to CHRISTUS Mother Frances Hospital – Sulphur Springs through the Spreading Our Wings Campaign. These proceeds will purchase medical equipment for the surgical wing expansion slated for completion in 2026.
The goal for the 20th anniversary Gala is $275,000 with income in excess of $250,000 going to other healthcare related activities of the Foundation.
Foundation Treasurer and Gala Leadership Committee Member Sally Toliver articulated the importance of supporting local healthcare.
“Funds raised by the Hopkins County Health Care Foundation, whether it is through the Gala, bingo events, or the Snowflake Campaign, allow us to directly invest in local healthcare. An upgraded MRI machine, CT scanner, five critical care beds, a portable X-ray machine, and new labor and delivery beds are just a few examples of how the Foundation has contributed to improving local healthcare offerings. The Foundation also offers its own health related programs such as free clinics and support for breast cancer patients. Only the support of this amazing community allows us to do these things that benefit us all. “
Something very important to the Foundation over the past 28 years of raising funds and awareness for Hopkins County healthcare is how those funds are stewarded. The Foundation limits overheard, is conscientious with expenses, and makes sure funds are used to benefit as many residents as possible. Funds raised through/by the Foundation are all spent to benefit Hopkins County.
Each year Gala proceeds are used to upgrade or purchase medical equipment, technology, programs, or facilities at the local non-profit hospital, CHRISTUS Mother Frances Hospital – Sulphur Springs, or the State special district, the Hopkins County Hospital District/EMS. Each and every project enhances local citizens’ access to healthcare options. Projects have spanned all age groups as well as various departments. The overall aim is to ensure that local citizens have as many healthcare opportunities as possible…right here in Hopkins County.
