Eligible Women Encouraged to Get Free Lifesaving Screening
Sulphur Springs, Texas – Appointments for the Hopkins County Health Care Foundation’s 6th Annual Free Mammography Clinic are going quickly. Uninsured Hopkins County women age 40 and up may call (903) 438-4325 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to schedule. Appointments will be made until all 75 spots are reserved.
Clinic dates are all Fridays in October: the 4th, 11th, 18th, and 25th. Screenings will be completed locally by the Ruth and Jack Gillis Women’s Center in CHRISTUS Mother Frances Hospital – Sulphur Springs.
A free mammogram is an opportunity for a clean bill of health or a life-saving early diagnosis. According to MD Anderson, only about 10% of women in the US are called back for additional testing, and even fewer are diagnosed with cancer.
Although the likelihood of being diagnosed with breast cancer is admittedly low, screening can detect cancer in the early stages, providing more time for diagnosis and treatment. Additionally, the cure rate for early-stage breast cancer in the US is approximately 90% and is often less invasive than treatment for later stages (Susan G. Komen, 2025).
Sign up for peace of mind today and share the Foundation’s posts on social media to help spread the good news. This clinic is among the many services offered by the Foundation, such as a free men’s clinic, educational resources, and programs. The Foundation is an IRS-designated 501 (c)(3).
