Curtis Filmore Wall was born into a Hopkins County farming family who raised cotton and cattle on July 18, 1930, to Hick V. and Marguerite (Armstrong) Wall. He grew up in the midst of the Great Depression helping plant, raise and pick cotton and care for the cattle, horses and mules on the family ranch. He met Dovie Lynn Gandy in Mt Vernon, Texas and they were married on August 25, 1954. They began their married life on the family ranch continuing to raise cotton and livestock. However, not long after starting their young family, Curtis chose to begin a new career as a pipeline welder, joining and being a member of the Pipeline Local Union #798 for 65 years. Curtis and Dovie continued to live and manage the family ranch in Weaver as members of the American Hereford Association and the Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association. A strong Christian gentleman, Curtis was a faithful member of the Baptist Church.

Curtis is survived by his wife of 71 years, Dovie Wall of Saltillo; daughters, Sherri Crittendon (Bryan) of Saltillo and Kim Latterman (Larry) of College Station; grandchildren, Carl Crittendon (Tes), Anna Crittendon, Christopher Latterman, and LaDonna Simon (Mike); great-grandchildren, Candace Eve Crittendon, Evelyn Simon, and Nathaniel Simon; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hick and Marguerite Wall; daughter, Geina Rena Wall; and sisters, Carolyn Poor and Faye Payne.
