Renata Vanderburg, age 61, of Cumby, Texas passed away at her home on Sunday, June 22, 2025.

 

Renata Lou Vanderburg was born on May 28, 1964 in Paris, Texas to Lewie Vanderburg, Jr. and Margaret Ann (Brown) Vanderburg. Renata obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Education from Texas A&M Commerce and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Texas Tech University . She went on to teach at Elementaries and Middle Schools all over Texas for over 25 years. She was a workaholic and loved her profession. She also loved working in her yard, flowerbeds, and garden as well as remodeling houses, traveling and working on the farm. Renata was a Godly woman that loved the Lord. She was loved by many friends, Renata had a group of childhood friends she loved and cherished and a teacher friend who was family and loved dearly. Her family loved her as much as she loved them.

Renata is survived by her son, Maverick Maxcy; brother, Scotty Vanderburg; and her parents, Lewie Vanderburg, Jr. and Margaret Vanderburg. Renata will have a private burial at Chicota cemetery in Lamar county.

 

Arrangements are under the direction of Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
