Mack Allen McQueen was born on July 8, 1942, in Sulphur Springs, Texas, to Luther and Juanita (Moore) McQueen. Mack graduated from North Hopkins School, where he was an active member of the FFA. On June 17, 1962, he married Marilyn Parnell in Cooper, Texas. They shared 54 years of marriage. Mack worked as a machinist at Rockwell International for over 30 years, where he mentored many and formed lifelong friendships. He enjoyed a quiet country life, occasionally punctuated by lively Cajun music in the evenings. Mack’s hobbies included fishing, hunting, and watching sports, particularly PBR. He was known to be quite festive around the campfire at the deer lease. In his younger years, he spent many days quail hunting with his loyal dog, Katy. While he traveled across many states supporting his children and grandchildren in their activities, he often remarked that he “never found a place as pretty as Emblem, Texas.” Mack instilled a strong work ethic in his children and was incredibly proud of the accomplishments of his grandchildren, niece, and nephew, all of whom he loved dearly. He was a member of Peerless Baptist Church.

Mack is survived by his son, Brent McQueen (Lori) of Sulphur Springs; his daughter, Linda Wilemon (Ray) of Brashear, Texas; his grandchildren, Megan Whitaker (Ricky) of Josephine, Texas, and Bryce McQueen of Dallas, Texas; his brother, Ronald McQueen (Donna) of Sulphur Springs, Texas; his niece, Chandra McQueen; and his nephew, Spencer McQueen.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Juanita McQueen, and his wife, Marilyn McQueen.
