The last Saturday in April is quickly approaching and that means Crawfish will be hitting the streets of downtown Sulphur Springs, Texas. The Annual Rotary Club event, Claws for a Cause, will be held on Saturday, April 26 on Celebration Plaza and will be fun for the whole family. This is the 10th year of the Crawfish boil that involves the whole community. This year Signature Solar has sponsored kids 0-16 eat free. So, grab the whole family and head on over to the crawfish boil.
Here are a few details you want to know before heading out. Service starts at 5 p. m. on Saturday and Dub and the Love Machines will be playing music. Tickets are $45 a person with kids 0-16 eating for free, thank you Signature Solar. Tickets can be purchased ahead of time at by clicking the QR code in the image or from this link. The Sulphur Springs Rotary Club uses this event to raise money for their scholarship program, and for organizations in Hopkins County who they support. Past recipients have been CASA, Can Help, DFW Honor Flight and more. Each dollar they raise they pour back into the community and students in our area. They give away six high school scholarships and those are Merit and Leadership based. Be sure to have your high school senior apply.
If you love the Crawfish boil and want to help out next year, please reach out to a Rotary member so you can learn more information and volunteer or join their local club. The club meets on Thursday’s at Noon in the First United Methodist Church fellowship hall. This is a chance for community members to come together and network with other business people in the community. If you are new to town and looking for a way to get to know others or have been around for a while and feel a little out of touch reach out to one of the community organizations to find out how you can connect with others.
Our community is only as strong as the people involved. Be one of those people who want to improve where we live. And of course, join the Rotary Club on Saturday, April 26 for Claws for a Cause.
