Funeral service for Laura Kirtley, age 56, of Sulphur Springs, Texas will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, March 28, 2025 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home in Sulphur Springs. Interment will follow at City Cemetery with Richard Finnie, Donald Jones, Herman Morris, Jr., Billy Kirtley, Nelson Argueta, and Kenny Gaulden serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Roger Kirtley, Leonard Morris, Herman Morris, and Christopher Cox. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home. Ms. Kirtley passed away at her home on Sunday, March 23, 2025.

 

Laura Kay Kitley was born on August 9, 1968 in Sulphur Springs, Texas to Narvil and Imogene (Nichols) Kirtley. Laura worked as a Certified Nurse Assistant and a waitress. Laura had a very trusting heart, always giving and helping others. She enjoyed spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. Laura was an avid collector of Coca-Cola memorabilia. She was a Christian and loved her Lord & Jesus.

 

Laura is survived by her daughter, Jessica Anderson (Richard) of Sulphur Springs, Texas; son, James Roscher (Bree) of Hurst, Texas; daughter, April Rogers of Topeka, Kansas; grandsons, Orion Gerety, Jayden Williams, Phoenix Gerety, Rhett Roscher, Ezeren Gerety, and Jaxsten Finnie; step-grandsons, Jacob Finnie and Coltynn Finnie; brothers, Roger Kirtley of Trinadad, Texas and Billy Kirtley of Dallas, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Narvil and Imogene Kirtley; brothers, James Kirtley and William Kirtley; and sisters, Sarah Paul Kirtley and Lonnie Glenn.

 

The family would like to give a special Thank You to Choice Hospice for their love and support, and to the Morris Family for always being there for Laura and her family.

 

Arrangements are under the direction of Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
