Graveside Service for Lola Barbara Powers will be at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at Restlawn Memorial Park in Sulphur Springs, Texas. Barbara passed away on March 15, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones.

Barbara was born on November 6, 1935, to Johnny Tyrus and Lola Mae (Lawrence) McGregor in Haskell County, Texas. She married Max Powers in 1959 in Andrews, Texas. Barbara was a loving and Godly sister, wife, mother, and grandmother. She is known for her quick wit and her devotion to God. Her soul flew away from this earth, but she lives forever in God’s kingdom and in our hearts. Barbara is welcomed into Heaven by her late husband, Max who loves her so. She was lovingly cared for by her life-long friend, playmate, and sister, Betsy in her last months. Now she “slides down the cellar door” in heaven.

She is survived by her sons, Lan Ray Powers, and Coty Max Powers; daughter, Lola Josha (Powers) Smith: brother, David Tyrus McGregor; sisters, Betsy Ellen (McGregor) Schaeffer, Nancy Carolyn (McGregor) Scharnberg, Judy Lanell (McGregor) Walton, and Toney Kim (McGregor) Green; grandchildren, Nikki, Russell, Justin, Mitchell, Jamie, Tammy, Tonya, Gracyn, Kaegan, and Braeden as well as 17 great-grandchildren.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents and her loving husband, Max Powers.

Arrangements are under the direction of West Oaks Funeral Home. www.westoaksfuneralhome.com
