Memorial service for Hope Weir, age 78, of Sulphur Springs, Texas will be held at a later date. Mrs. Weir passed away at Christus Mother Frances Hospital in Sulphur Springs on Sunday, March 2, 2025.

 

Hope C. Weir was born on January 31, 1947 in Petty, Texas to Hamp and Lizzy Cochran. She married Sammy Jack Weir in Las Vegas, Nevada on November 223, 1990. They worked together for over 30 years at Winzen. They loved to travel and were beloved soulmates for over 50 years. Hope was actively involved in non-profits serving over 5,000 Hopkins County residents a month for over 20 years. She was the assistant director of the Hopkins County Community Chest and Hopkins County Food Chest and a member of the Methodist Church.

 

Hope Weir is survived by her husband, Sammy Weir of Sulphur Springs, Texas; sister, Judy Moore of San Antonio, Texas, sisters-in-law, Charlotte Killian of Cumby, Texas and Sharon Mirek of Longview, Texas, and mother-in-law, Joan Wier of Sulphur Springs, Texas; nieces, Mary and Becky Allen of Sawyer, Oklahoma; and nephews, Roger Cochran (Annette) of Rio Vista, Texas, Tony Allen (China) of Sawyer, Oklahoma, and Bobby Allen (Denise) of Sawyer, Oklahoma

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hamp and Lizzy Cochran; and brother, Wade Cochran.

 

Arrangements are under the direction of Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
