Obituary for Elmer Hall

It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Elmer Hall, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who left us on February 25th at the age of 58. Born on November 25th, in Cumby Texas, Elmer Lee Hall was a man of unwavering faith, a steady presence in the lives of those who knew him, and a true lover of nature.
A man who found peace and joy in the great outdoors, Elmer had a deep love for hunting and fishing, spending countless hours in the woods and on the water. To him, these activities were more than hobbies; they were ways to connect with the world around him and find solace in the quiet moments of solitude. Whether casting a line in a still lake or tracking through the forest, he embraced every aspect of the outdoors with respect and reverence.
As a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Elmer instilled in his family the importance of hard work, dedication, and kindness. His love for his family was unfaltering, whether it was teaching his children and grandchildren to fish, telling stories around the campfire, or simply sharing a quiet evening on a Montana porch, he cherished every moment spent with them.
Elmer was also known for his strength of character, generosity, and his steadfast faith. He was the kind of man who would drop everything to help a friend in need, always ready with kind words and empathy, prayers, or a helping hand. His faith was a guiding light in his life, and he lived each day with gratitude, humility, and a deep sense of purpose.
A man whose heart was as brave as his hands were steady. For almost twenty years, he served as a firefighter and EMT, answering the call whenever someone was in need, often without hesitation and always with a smile. His commitment to others was unmatched, and it was no surprise when he was named Firefighter of the Year – a reflection of his tireless work, his generosity of spirit, and the deep respect he earned from everyone who had the privilege to work alongside him. He gave everything to help others, and his legacy of kindness, courage, and service will live on in the countless lives he touched.
While we mourn his loss, we take comfort in knowing that his spirit will live on in the many lives he touched. He is preceded in death by his father and mother, James and Nelljean Hall as well as his sister, Jeannie Thomas. Elmer is survived by his adoring wife, Kathy Hall; His eldest son, Austin Hall, wife Ashley Hall and their three children Nolan, Karley, and Macie; His only daughter Kirstie Hall, husband Lance Smith and their three children Cael, Lydia and Adeleigh; His youngest son Coty Hall and his two children Rhyleigh and Wyatt; His brothers William and Tommy and his sister Rebekah as well as their spouses; Plus many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, church family, and his Montana family, who will forever carry the lessons he taught them through his words, actions, and example. His love for them was unmatched, and his belief in the importance of family, faith, and love will continue to guide them.
A service to honor and celebrate his life will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Campbell TX, with visitation being held on February 28th from 6-8 p.m. at West Oaks Funeral Home in Sulphur Springs TX.
While we mourn his passing, we take comfort in knowing that he is at peace with his Lord, and that his love and faith will continue to inspire us for years to come. He will be missed more than words can express, but his legacy of love and faith will continue to inspire us all.
