Graveside for Donald Meeks, age 68, of Como, Texas will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at Greenpond Cemetery in Como, Texas with Buddy Wiggins officiating. Pallbearers will include Bennie Harris, Levi Barnes, Jeremiah Meeks, Bobby Meeks, Wayne Wilkerson, and Jim Murray. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home in Sulphur Springs. Mr. Meeks passed away in Bonifay, Florida on Tuesday, January 28, 2025.

 

Donald Wayne Meeks was born on June 22, 1956, in Shreveport, Louisiana to Billy Bob and Loretta Meeks. Don worked as a business owner for more than 40 years, serving his community and was a friend to all. Don was a US Army veteran that had a love of performing in the rodeo with his trick horse Levi and bringing his chuck wagon to take part in annual stew cook-off’s. Don was immensely proud of his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, singing around a campfire, and spending as much time as he could with family, making memories that last a lifetime.

 

Don is survived by his children, his son Chad Meeks and wife Amy, his son, Eric Meeks and wife Malinda, his daughter, SyDina Kummer and husband Matt, his son, Casey Brown and wife Bre, his stepdaughter, Minta Wilkerson and husband Wayne, his stepdaughter, Jessica Williams and husband Jonathan. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jazmine, Jeremiah, Dolyn, Harleigh, Lilly, Bristol, Hazel, Tatum, Blake, Gunnar, Colt, Ezekiel, Levi, Jocelyn, Nevaeh, Teagan, Madi, Piper; great-grandchild, Kehlani, and his brother, Bobby Meeks.

 

Don is preceded in death by his parents, Billy Bob and Loretta Meeks, his life partner, Laura Mannon, and sister, Gail Meeks.

 

Arrangements are under the direction of Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
