Funeral service for Gary Ross, age 77, of Saltillo, Texas will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 31, 2025 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home in Sulphur Springs, Texas with Bro. Tom Friday officiating. Interment will follow at Weaver Cemetery with Kevin Ross, Donald Ross, Tyler Ross, Brian Beadle, Mitchell Singleton, and Chase Helm serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held one hour prior from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home. Mr. Ross passed away at Hospice of East Texas in Tyler on Tuesday, January 28, 2025.

 

Gary Dale Ross was born on September 4, 1947 in Dallas, Texas to Edwin Burton and Johnnie Marie (Albert) Ross. He married Cheree Elaine Ward in Las Vegas, Nevada on June 5, 1988. Gary was a truck driver for over 30 years. After retiring he took over the family farm. Gary was a member of the Weaver Baptist Church and on the Board of Directors for the Weaver Cemetery Association.

 

Gary is survived by his wife, Cheree Ross; sons, Ronnie Ross (Misti) and Michael Ross; grandchildren, Danielle Ross and Gabby Ross; brother, Donnie Ross; nephews, Kevin Ross (Cathy), Chase Helm (Michelle), and Donald Ross; niece, Monica Glenn; and numerous other nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; and sister-in-law, Sharon Helm (Charles).

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin Burton and Johnny Marie Ross; stepson, Christopher Walden; great-grandson, Tristan Ross; and mother and father-in-law, G.C. and Della Ward.

 

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a donation to the Weaver Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 21, Saltillo, TX 75478.

 

Arrangements are under the direction of Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
