Graveside service for Edovenia Bayna Johnson, age 70 of Beeville, Texas will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Friday, November 22, 2024 at Old Tarrant Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Curtis Joedon Johnson, Brian Johnson, Rance Nichols, and Aidan Nichols. There will be no formal visitation. Mrs. Johnson passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2024 in Victoria, Texas.

 

Vina was born on March 21, 1954, in Aringin, Moncada, Tarlac, Philippines, the fourth child of Pablo Bayna and Rosalia Rubang. She grew up on a rice farm, went to school, and helped to care for her younger sisters. In 1974, she met Curtis Ray Johnson, an airman stationed at Clark Air Base in Angeles City whom she married in September of that same year. In February 1975, she came to the United States on his discharge from military service.

 

Vina is survived by her children, Leizel Nichols, daughter, and husband Jared, and son, Rizalde Johnson, her grandchildren, Curtis Joedon Johnson and wife Destiny, Saraya Hughes, Brian Johnson, Natalie Johnson, Rance Nichols and Aidan Nichols, and great-grandson, Bryson Johnson. She is also survived by her sisters in the Philippines: Zanaida, Merley, Shirley, Flordeliza and Remedios as well as many nieces and nephews.

 

She was a beloved mother, wife, and grandmother who will be deeply missed by all who loved her. Her memory will be cherished.
