Memorial service for Sharon Zeleny, age 72, of Streetman, Texas will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home in Sulphur Springs, Texas. Mrs. Zeleny passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2024.

 

Sharon Elaine Zeleny was born May 6, 1952 in Guymon, Oklahoma to Elvis and Joy (Stock) Maddox, and grew up in Texhoma, Texas. Shortly after marrying Dale Zeleny June 15, 1992, she moved to Sulphur Springs, Texas and worked for the local EMS service as a paramedic.

 

Sharon spent much of her young adult years participating in many community organized sports, while also acting as a little league baseball coach and camp counselor at Ceta Canyon when her children were young. She loved being outdoors fishing, water skiing, snow skiing or working in her garden. In her spare time, Sharon loved to create stained glass pieces and even owned a studio for a short period of time where she created pieces for many locals’ homes.

 

Survivors include her husband, Dale Zeleny; son, Neal Smith; daughter, Monique Kager and husband Aaron Kager; five grandchildren, Kallye Wallace and husband Luke Wallace, Austin Kager, Dacey Smith, Makenna White and husband Noah, and Kason Kager; two great-grandchildren, Madeline Kager and Landry Wallace; sister, Evelyn Martin.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elvis and Joy Maddox; brothers David Maddox and Mike Maddox.

 

Arrangements are under the direction of Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
