A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date for Lou Jane (Janie) Rodgers, age 73, of Sulphur Springs, Texas. Mrs. Rodgers passed away at Christus Mother Frances Hospital in Sulphur Springs, Texas on Saturday, October 12, 2024.

Lou Jane Rodgers was born on July 13, 1951 in Sulphur Springs, Texas to Leamon and Beverly (Phillips) Burns. She married Jim Rodgers in Montgomery, Alabama in 1988. Janie attended Troy University in Montgomery, AL obtaining her Registered Nurse (RN) degree. Deeply loved by her fellow nurses, she built lifelong friendships throughout her career. Known to many as “Nanny”, she adored her family and loved spending time with them. With a heart bigger than Texas and compassion for others, she impacted many lives helping anyone who needed it. Janie truly had a servant’s heart. She loved to travel, dance, and spend time with her South Texas friends every Winter. She will be greatly missed by so many.

Janie is survived by her son, Bryan Daffron (Valerie) of Red Oak, Texas; daughters, Angie Wiler (John) and Jennifer Friddle (Mark) all of Sulphur Springs, Texas; grandchildren, Katelynn Daffron, Britten Daffron, Brayden Daffron, Brynden Daffron, Justan Puckett (Jacie), Lindsie Adams (Reshard), Mandi Dickens (Daylan), McKenna Wiler, MaKinsie Friddle, Kinley Friddle, Riley Friddle, Schylar Fouse (Andy), Casey Potts (Brady); great-grandchildren, Abigail Jane, Ragyn, Minley, Landon, Brody, John Oliver, Kutter, Jaiden, Paisley, Grayson, Ella, Skylin, Karter, Adlee, Lora Kate, Layton, and Brantli; sister, Patsy McGuffey; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leamon and Beverly Burns; her husband of 32 years, Jim Rodgers; sisters, Linda Lumpkin, Jimmie Stonaker, Kay Hill, and Sue Taylor; and one brother Bill King, Jr.

Arrangements are under the direction of Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
