Wanda L. Durham, age 77 of Yantis, Texas passed away October 2, 2024 at her home.

 

Wanda was born in Houston, Texas to Edward and Naomi Jones. Wanda was raised by her mother Naomi and bonus dad, Orum Moss. Wanda was a brilliant woman with a strong work ethic matched only by her love of animals. Wanda deeply loved her cats, dogs, and her horses.

 

Wanda married Jerry Durham who preceded her in death. Together they helped raise Miranda Hodges, their bonus granddaughter. Wanda retired from over 30 years of working as a dispatcher for Lone Star Milk of Windthorst, Texas. She loved her career and the McGeehan family. Wanda spent her retirement days caring for her animals and as well as many others, and helping and enjoying her friends. Wanda loved hard and lived hard.

 

Wanda is survived by her bonus granddaughter, Miranda Hodges of Yantis, Texas; her best friend and dearly loved cousin, Jackie Thomison of Copan, Oklahoma; and her sister-in-law, Eron Flemens of Dallas, Texas as well as her many friends.

 

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Broadway Animal Hospital of Sulphur Springs, to the Life Line Fund, or to your local SPCA.

 

Memorial service pending.
