Funeral service for Shirley Barker, age 88, of Winnsboro, Texas will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home with C.J. Duffey officiating. Interment will follow at Restlawn Memorial Park with Jeremy Keen, Terry Hayley, Cade Hayley, Don Bunch, and Ron Bunch serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at 1:00 p.m. Mrs. Barker passed away at Carriage House Manor in Sulphur Springs, Texas on Sunday, July 21, 2024.

 

Shirley Ann Barker was born on March 18, 1936 in Hopkins County to Sidney and Lois (Barker) Walker. She enjoyed sewing and loved traveling. Shirley was a member of the Fairlee Baptist Church.

 

Shirley is survived by her daughter, Kim Hayley (Terry); step-son, Robert Allen Barker; step-daughter, Donna Barker Jacobo; grandchild, Jeremy Keen (Amber); step-grandchildren, Christina East, Jeremy Dunck, Matthew Barker, Chris Barker, Cade Hayley; great-grandchild, Kamri Addison Keen; sister-in-law, Sue Walker; nieces, Debra Walker Ponder, Michele McKinney, Lisa Avery, Tommi Sartin Daugherty; and nephews, Ron Bunch, Don Bunch.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Sidney Walker and Lois Barker; husbands, Henry Sartin and Roy Dale Barker; step-mom, Dorene Walker Rhoades; step-son, Roy Dale Barker, Jr.; step-daughter, Carol Barker Martens; sisters, Rosemary Ryan, Peggy Horten, Caroline Stovall; and brother, Leiland Walker.

 

The family would like to thank the staff at Carriage House Manor for their caring love and support.

 

Arrangements are under the direction of Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
