Funeral Service for Nelda Doss, age 70, of Arbala will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home in Sulphur Springs, Texas. Interment will follow at Arbala Cemetery with Darrel Watkins, Bryan Sells, Garrett Landers, Wesley Winstead, Alex Hammac, and Darrel Gentry serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Jaden Goldsmith Jake Armstrong, Andy Fouse, Brady Potts, and Laeton Potts. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Nelda passed away at her home on Saturday, June 1, 2024.

 

Nelda Kay Doss was born on October 10, 1953 in Yantis, Texas to Orville and Virginia (Gilbreath) Blalock. She married James Doss on June 27, 1992 in Winnsboro, Texas. Nelda owned a Subway sandwich shop in Sulphur Springs since 1992. She also owned Subway shops in Yantis, Winnsboro, and Bonham, Texas. She was a member of the Cross Country Cowboy Church. She was a Mom, Wife, and known as “Mamaw” to her grandkids. She will be missed dearly by all.

 

Nelda is survived by her husband, James Doss of Arbala; son, Mark Friddle and wife Jennifer of Arbala; daughter, Amy Landers and husband Jon of Sulphur Springs; grandchildren, Schylar Fouse (Andy), Casey Potts (Brady), Makensie Friddle, Kinley Friddle, Riley Friddle, Garrett Landers, Morgan Goldsmith (Jaden); great-grandchildren, Laeton Potts, Brantley Fouse; sisters, Barbara Deaton of Winnsboro, Carolyn Peterson (Dale) of Lindale; brother, Michael Blalock of Winnsboro; and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Virginia Blalock; brothers, Bob Blalock and Charles Blalock; and sisters, Sharon Gray and Diana Blalock.

 

Arrangements are under the direction of Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
