Our beloved mother and grandmother, Martha Stapleton Pacheco “Grammy”, died on May 24, 2024 at the age of 82. She passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones. Born in Sulphur Springs, Texas on December 6, 1941, she was the daughter of the late Alex and Dessie Stapleton. She grew up in Texas along with two brothers Ken and Louis Stapleton and one sister Norma Jenkins.

 

She moved to Pennsylvania in 1960 where she was married and raised three children until she returned to her hometown in Sulphur Springs, Texas in the mid-90’s. In 2000, she met her current husband Angel Suares Pacheco and got married in January, 2009. Martha is survived by her husband Angel, three children, Johnny (Denise), Jimmy, and Cindy (Steve), and a stepdaughter Angie (Aaron). She has six grandchildren, Johnny (Tessa), Emily (Chris), Trevor, Victoria (Eric), Steven (Kayla), and Christopher (Kim), and one step-grandchild Liz (Joe). She was also blessed with four great-grandchildren, Sebastian, Theodore, Thomas, and soon to be her first great-granddaughter expected in June. The blessings continue with seven great step-grandchildren, Isabella, Brooklyn, Elijah, Everly, Zane, Layla, and Joey.

 

She was a wonderful mother and grandmother who was always there when we needed her, offering support, guidance and lots of love. She will be missed dearly. Private services will be held on Friday, May 31, 2024 in Texas.

 

Arrangements are under the direction of Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
