Sulphur Springs Travels To Paris Friday Night
The Sulphur Springs Wildcats are back in action Friday night, this time on the road against a familiar foe in Paris. The two teams were able to renew their rivalry a season ago, in a game that came down to the final play of the game.
Last season it was Sulphur Springs who squeaked past Paris, winning 21-14, thanks to a last second pass break up in the end zone. This season, both teams enter the match tied for first place in the district with 2-0 records, but only one of them will be able to walk away still undefeated in district play.
Sulphur Springs enters the night on fire, winning each of their last five games, and looking to extend their winning streak to six games. During their five-game winning streak they have outscored their opponents 182-100, winning on average by a score of 36-20.
Paris also has a good bit of momentum coming into the game, winning each of their last two games by a combined score of 83-14, completely dominating Kaufman and Community. The two teams have been pretty similar against common opponents, each beating Liberty-Eylau and Community three or more scores.
Sulphur Springs and Paris are joined by only Anna as the remaining unbeaten teams in the district. Tonight’s game could go a long way in determining the top two seeds in the district.
Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. Anybody who can’t make the game in person can watch a full live broadcast, starting at 7 p.m. on Front Porch News and Chad’s Media.
