April 28, 1948 – June 4, 2023

Entrepreneur, who assumed risks and rewards in business and personal life, including a 1984 kidney donation — one of the earliest recorded at Dallas Methodist Central Hospital — to his brother. Rick’s spirit of adventure led him in search of peace, prosperity and purpose. He rarely stayed long —”At least I got this far”- and he was ever on the move-I ‘This is where I was when I moved again-”

Owner and operator of national restaurant franchises Holiday Inn, the Kettle and Denny’s, he also administered medical and health care facilities in Arlington, Dallas and Sulphur Springs.

Rick studied and trained at El Centro College, Parkland School of Radiology and the U.S. Air Force Hospital & Medical School.

He was an Air Force veteran and member of the First United Methodist Church in Sulphur Springs. Funeral services will be conducted by The Reverend Jill Jackson-Sears and held at West Oak Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, June 8, 2023.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Nell and Bill Jackson and sister, Debbie Chenault.

Those who will continue to remember his life with gratitude are his brothers, Rev. Michael R. Jackson and Bill A. Jackson; sons, Shane and Steven Jackson and four grandchildren.
