SURGICAL EYE PROCEDURES NOW OFFERED AT CHRISTUS MOTHER FRANCES HOSPITAL
(Sulphur Springs, Texas) – Patients in the Sulphur Springs area will now have access to complex eye procedures, thanks to the arrival of Dr. Kara Hartl, who will be seeing patients on a weekly basis at CHRISTUS Mother Frances Hospital – Sulphur Springs. Hartl and her company, Troy Medical, was approached by a surgical equipment company who works with rural hospitals, and the opportunity to work with Mother Frances Hospital – Sulphur Springs presented itself. “This was a perfect alignment of the mission to bring high-quality medical care into rural America,” Hartl said. “We practice exceptional medicine, we do not practice ‘ok’ medicine, and in ophthalmology that means making an investment into the highest quality medical equipment, and the hospital did it.” Hartl holds a degree in biology from Harvard, her medical degree from The University of California-San Diego Medical School and trained at the world-renowned Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. She practiced in Fairbanks, Alaska for nearly 15 years, where she founded Troy Medical with the
belief that everyone should have access to excellent medical care, no matter where they live.

She will be operating at Mother Frances Hospital – Sulphur Springs two days a month and will see patients via telehealth options for the remaining days.
