Obituary for Garlan “Joe” Dooley
Graveside service for Garlan “Joe” Dooley, age 74, of Sulphur Springs, Texas will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at Memoryland Memorial Park in Greenville, TX with Dr. Aaron White officiating. Joe passed away on Sunday, May 28, 2023 at Christus Mother Frances Hospital in Sulphur Springs.
Joe was born on January 23, 1949 in Hunt County, TX to Garth Dooley and Betty Jean Litchfield. After graduating from Boles Home in Hunt County, Joe spent his career working as car salesman in Greenville and went on to run his own restaurant. He spent over 30 years with his companion, Paul West, who passed away in 2021. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending his time with his family and friends, as well as traveling.
He is survived by father, Garth Dooley; brother, David Dooley; nieces, Amy White, Lori Hererra, Jessica Dooley; nephews, Michael Dooley and John Dooley.
Joe was preceded in death by his mother, Jean Hutson; companion of 30 years, Paul West and sister, Frances Davis.
