Lady Eagles Ready For Regional Final
It’s been a great season for the No. 2 ranked Como-Pickton Lady Eagles, who have amassed a record of 35-2 through their first 37 games. This week, the Lady Eagles have one more hill to climb before they can advance to the State Tournament.
Como-Pickton has been spectacular all season, and nothing changed once the postseason began. They have been undefeated in postseason play, including a one-game set against Groveton in the Regional Semifinal.
The one-game Regional Semifinal worked against Como-Pickton, thought they didn’t let that get to them. The Lady Eagles plated three runs in the top of the second and led the rest of the way, winning the game by a final score of 5-2 to advance to the Regional Final.
Now that they’re there, they will go back to a best-of-three series, this time against No. 8 ranked Shelbyville, who comes into the series with a season record of 25-14. The series opens with games on Wednesday and Thursday, both of which will begin at 6 p.m.
Game Three, if needed, will be played Saturday at 4 p.m. All games of the series will be played at Marshall High School.
