Patsy Jane (Waters) McMahan was born November 6, 1936 in Dike, TX to Jesse Lee Waters and Viola (Ledford) Waters. She married James Kenneth McMahan on January 27, 1961. Patsy was a rural mail carrier in Yantis for 30 years. Patsy Jane Waters McMahan was adored by her family.

The Grandkids call her Granny Mac, and she made the best GFC that put KFC to shame.

(Aka Granny fried Chicken). She had many gifts that she shared including playing the piano at Lake Highlands Baptist Church for as long as they can remember, and baking Italian Cream Cakes, Coconut Cakes and Pecan pies to share with family and Friends. She and Pa PA Mac loved their grandbabies. They praised and cheered, but also taught them about right from wrong. Patsy’s boys learned that tough love raised wonderful sons as well.

“Well Allllright ! “was a favorite statement from her in praise, in excitement and especially in winning a jackpot on a video poker machine. She was a longtime member of Lake Highlands Baptist Church where she served as their pianist. She tried to retire from her role on the piano, but they managed to reel her back in. She loved to play for the choir, special music and the men’s quartet group. Old Rugged Cross was one of her favorites. She played the piano for 45 years. Patsy was a people person. No stranger was ever met. She had a wonderful sense of humor and a quick wit that made you laugh no matter what your day had in store. She is a treasure that will be kept in our hearts for sure!

Patsy is survived by her sons, Dale McMahan and wife, Sherri and James McMahan and wife, Karen; her granddaughters, Holly Ragan and husband, Tanner, Jennifer Heitman and husband, Cole, Krista Morrill and husband, Jake, Cassidy Cameron and husband, Justin; Grandson, Chris Clark; great-grandchildren, Reese, Ramsey, Ryan, Max, Henry, Taylor, Jett, Cadence, Jaxon and, Grayson; sister, Betty Waters Tubb; brother, Curtis Waters and wife, Betty; and special friend, Roger Caudle.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Randy McMahan; grandson, Casey James McMahan; brothers, Joe Waters, A.J. Waters, Billy Waters, Jesse Waters, Travis Waters; and sister, Doris Waters McKinzie.

Patsy’s family would like to share their gratitude and appreciation to everyone at Wesley House and the Memory Care facility and to Heritage Hospice, especially Maisie and Amy.
