Joyce Jordan Cozzens, age 77 of Fort Worth, Texas passed away on March 27, 2023 at North Hills Medical Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas.

 

Joyce was born on November 24, 1945 in Greenville, Texas to D.L. and Beatrice (Fant) Jordan. She was very talented in her handwork. Joyce loved to crochet, knit, cross stitch, sew, quilt and decorate cakes. She was a member of Stitch and Bitch with five other ladies. They would meet for lunch and stitch. She also had her Ham Radio license, WB5LIS. Joyce loved to spend weekends driving back roads and enjoying the beauty of the countryside.

 

Joyce worked for the athletic department for the city of Forth Worth for 15 years and retired from Hunt County Memorial Hospital in 2007.

 

Joyce married her high school sweetheart, Gary Cozzens, in 1961. They had two children together, Shirley Cozzens and Jordan Cozzens. Gary passed away in 1980. She later married Burnie Murrey. He passed away in 2010. She was also preceded in death by her parents and brother, James Jordan.

 

She is survived by her children, Shirley Cozzens and husband, Doug Oldham, Jordan Gary Cozzens; grandchildren, Cody Pierce, Ryan Pierce and wife, Alyssa, Brandon and wife, Kayla; five great grandchildren; brother, Johnny Jordan and wife, Sue; sister, Judy Jeter and husband, Jerry.

 

There will be no formal service. A private family memorial will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
