Graveside service for Billie Reynolds Evans, age 96, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 23, 2023 at Restlawn Memorial Park with Jerry Savage officiating and Charles Mike Reynolds, Ricky Reynolds, Gary Reynolds, Donny Palmer, and Jim Boswell serving as pallbearers. There is no formal visitation. Mrs. Evans passed away peacefully Saturday evening, March 18, 2023 at Christus Mother Frances Hospital in Sulphur Springs.

 

Billie Reynolds Evans was born July 28, 1926 in Sulphur Bluff, TX to Arthur L. Reynolds and Willie (Hicks) Reynolds. She married John William Evans in Sulphur Springs on March 27, 1958. Mrs. Evans was a bookkeeper for several local businesses throughout her career, and she was a member of the League Street Church of Christ, Daughters of the American Revolution, and United Daughters of the Confederacy.

 

Mrs. Evans is survived by nieces and nephews, Patty Reynolds Palmer and husband, Donny, Charles Mike Reynolds and wife, Ginger, Gary Reynolds and wife, Lexi, Ricky Reynolds and wife, Maleta, and Susan Reynolds; sister-in-law, Nancy Reynolds; and numerous grand- and great-grand nieces and nephews.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John; brothers, Charles Reynolds and Arthur E. Reynolds; nieces, Peggy Reynolds and Carol Boswell; and grand-niece, Tayler Reynolds.

 

Memorials may be made to League Street Church of Christ, 1100 S. League St., Sulphur Springs, TX 75482.

 

Arrangements are under the direction of Murray-Orwosky Funeral Home.
