Lady Cats Powerlifting takes 3rd place at Regionals

The Sulphur Springs Lady Cats powerlifting team competed in the regional meet Saturday. The Lady Cats team put on a great showing, taking third place as a team, and seeing a number of girls advance to the state competition.

Heading To State 

Haylee Shultz took first place in the 105’s, having an outstanding performance. Shultz set regional records in bench (165), deadlift (315) and total (755). She will be heading to the state competition and looking to add to her impressive resume. 

Machelle Allen also finished in first place in her respective class. Allen had impressive numbers in every category, finishing with a total of 1105 and also advancing to the state competition. 

Joining Shultz and Allen at the state competition will be Laney Hurst, who finished in third place in her class. Hurst finished with a squad of 275 pounds, a bench of 135 pounds and a deadlift of 290 pounds for a total of 700. The trio of Shultz, Allen and Hurst will look to continue their impressive runs at the state competition.

8th place Brooklynn Person in 165’s

11th place Isabelle Thesing in 165’s 

5th place Kolbi McCoy in 181’s -240 squat, 115 bench, 225 deadlift, 580 total 

1st place Machelle Allen in 259+- 450 squat, 300 bench, 350 deadlift, 1105 total Heading to state comp. 


3rd place Reese Offutt in 259+- 300 squat, 255 bench, 270 deadlift, 825 total
