Thanksgiving has come and gone, and now we are in that weird time between Thanksgiving and Christmas. After a little break, people have to return to work and students have to return to school. Luckily there is one sliver lining, which is the return of high school basketball.
Both the Sulphur Springs Wildcats and Lady Cats are in action tonight, though neither of them will be playing in front of their home crowd. The two teams will each be on the road, but will each be looking to add to their respective winning streaks.
Sulphur Springs Lady Cats @ Commerce
The Sulphur Springs Lady Cats have been red hot as of late, and will surely be looking to add to that in their road battle today. After losing two of their first four games, the Lady Cats have answered back with five consecutive wins, looking to extend their streak to six games with another win tonight.
In that stretch, all but one of their wins have come by double-digits, and they have outscored their opponents 241-137, winning each game on average by a score of 48-27. Tonight, they will be going up against a team who is also on a five-game winning streak, the Commerce Lady Tigers.
The Lady Tigers are not only 5-0, but have done so in fashion, winning each game by double-digits. They opened the season by taking down Quinlan Ford 45-15, before beating Blue Ridge 49-14, Leonard 55-23, North Hopkins 64-26 and Wills Point 53-32.

As a team they are averaging 53 points per game and only allowing 22 points allowed per game. Tonight will be a great test for both teams, and an opportunity for one of the teams to extend their winning streak to six games.
Sulphur Springs Wildcats @ Lakeview Centennial
It’s been a great start for the Sulphur Springs Wildcats, who have opened the season winning five consecutive games. Only one of their wins has been less by 10 or more points, and they even broke a school-record by scoring 104 points in their blowout win over Hampton Prep.
In their most recent outing against Naaman Forrest, every player who entered the game scored at least one point. Tonight, against an 0-8 Lakeview Centennial team, they very well could have an opportunity to do so again.
The Wildcats offense has been on fire, scoring 65 or more points all but once so far, while their defense has allowed 55 or less in all five matchups. Sulphur Springs should see tougher challenges in tournament play later this week, but tonight’s matchup should prove for a chance to get everyone involved again, while also improving to 6-0.
