The Sulphur Springs city council unanimously approved the following action items during their regular September meeting:

  • Consent agenda
    • Ordinance 2809 which a establishes a program to charge mitigation rates for costs incurred during the deployment of emergency and non-emergency services, equipment, and first responders 
    • Ordinance 2810, an amendment to the 1982 Ordinance 889, which allows video gaming premises within the Sulphur Springs city limits
    • Ordinance 2811, the appropriations budget for the City of Sulphur Springs for fiscal year 2022-2023
    • Ordinance 2812, the tax rate for the City of Sulphur Springs for fiscal year 2022 – 2023
    • Ordinance 2813, the water rate for the City of Sulphur Springs for fiscal year 2022 – 2023
    • Ordinance 2814, the sewer rate for the City of Sulphur Springs for fiscal year 2022 – 2023
    • Ordinance 2815, the sanitation rate for the City of Sulphur Springs for fiscal year 2022 – 2023
    • Ordinance 2816, amending Ordinance No. 2799, the master fee schedule for costs, fees and rates associated with permitting, utility services and other services provided by the city 
    • Ordinance 2817, authorization of updated service credits
    • Ordinance 2818, authorization of annual budget ordinance
    • Resolution 1310, a settlement between Sulphur Springs, the Atmos Cities Steering Committee and Atmos Energy Corporation
    • Resolution 1311, authorization of annual investment policy
    • Approval of Sidewalk Committee members
    • Approval of Sulphur Springs Police Department Asset Forfeiture plan
    • Approval to buy a bar screen for the Water Treatment Plant
    • Approval to buy a chemicals for the Water Treatment Plant
    • Approval to contract with Vail and Park, PC to complete an annual audit 
  • Approval of Sulphur Springs Economic Development Corporation budget
  • Approval of Sulphur Springs Economic Development Corporation work plan
  • Approval of land sale to Ashoka Steel, Inc. 
  • Approval of a contract with EmergiFire LLC to do third-party billing
