Hopkins County Health Care Foundation Welcomes New Director

Sulphur Springs, TX –

CHRISTUS Mother Frances Hospital – Sulphur Springs and the Hopkins County Health Care Foundation’s Board of Directors have named Kayla Price as the new executive director of the Foundation.  Kayla replaces Shannon Barker who left the post after two successful years of fundraising to return to her favorite job as fulltime mom.

Kayla has fifteen years of experience in all aspects of fundraising having served at three public universities in Texas. For twelve years, Kayla and her sister, Markeda Fisher, owned Professional Land Title which served Hopkins, Franklin and Delta Counties.  In addition to professional fundraising activities Kayla has served as a volunteer to raise funds for local organizations such as the HCHCF’s Gala in April which she and Markeda co-chaired.  In 2011, Kayla and Markeda co-chaired the Hopkins County United Way campaign.

“We are so excited to have Kayla as our new Hopkins County Health Care Foundation’s Executive Director.  Kayla’s experience and deep connections in Hopkins County will add to the continued growth and support of the Foundation,” said Paul Harvey, President and CEO of CHRISTUS Mother Frances Hospital – Sulphur Springs.

“I truly believe that Kayla successfully gives 200% to everything she tackles,” said Sharla Campbell, Foundation Board Chair.  “I admire the difference she makes already in our community, and I am confident she will give her all to this Foundation, as well. The wildly successful Gala this year was just a sneak peak of what is to come with Kayla’s leadership. Her strong background in fundraising and philanthropy will guide the Foundation into a new chapter. I feel like we are on a launchpad to growth, making a greater impact to local healthcare, and I am excited to see where Kayla takes it!”

Kayla currently volunteers locally on the Lake Country CASA Board of Directors, Sulphur Springs Symphony League Board of Directors, and as a campaign volunteer with United Way.  She has previously served as President of the Sulphur Springs Rotary Club, City Council member, and Mayor.

Kayla earned Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in business and a Doctoral degree in adult education all from Texas A&M University-Commerce as well as a Master’s degree in mass communication from Bowling Green State University.

“I am thrilled to be working to garner support for CHRISTUS Mother Frances Hospital – Sulphur Springs through the Foundation.  Though my family and I have always supported the local hospital, spending six months as a volunteer co-chair of the Foundation’s Gala made me realize this is a passion of mine.  I look forward to continuing the successful efforts of the past executive directors and Foundation Board members who have worked so hard to make the Foundation strong.”

Kayla is married and resides in Sulphur Springs.
