Cypress Basin Hospice Offers Camp Brave Heart for Grieving Children

Since 2010, Camp Brave Heart has been helping children, ages 6 – 12, understand their grief and develop coping skills in managing the emotions and behaviors that come with the bereavement process. Over 400 children have attended our camps since its inception.
After missing the last two years due to COVID, we are extremely happy to announce Camp Brave Heart will be returning this year! We look forward to helping children coping with grief express their emotions, work through their grief, and connect with other children going through a similar issue.

This free camp is offered as a ministry to any child struggling with the grief caused by the death of a loved one. Campers will participate in a special memory project, arts and crafts, cooking activities and more. The activities and interactions with the children are guided by trained bereavement counselors who provide emotional support on a daily basis to the patients and family members on our hospice.
Camps will be held at the following locations:
June 9 & 10 – First United Methodist Church (Paris)
June 16 & 17 – Tennison Memorial United Methodist Church (Mt. Pleasant)
June 23 & 24 – First United Methodist Church (Sulphur Springs)
Camp Brave Heart is a faith-based day camp held for two days from 8:30 am until 12:30 pm each day. Along with hospice staff, the camp runs with the help of volunteers who receive training before each camp. If you would like to register your child for camp, or serve as a volunteer, please call us at 903-577-1510.
