Twelve beautiful 60+ ladies are competing in the Ms. Hopkins County Senior pageant this year.

The Pageant will be held on Saturday, June 4th at 6:00 PM at the Hopkins County Regional Civic Center.

The Ladies will be judged on:

  • Best personality
  • Philosophy of life
  • Best talent
  • Best interview
  • Best evening gown

There will also be Awards for Ms Congeniality, A Spirit Award and the Clydene Fielden Memorial Leadership Award.

Barbara Grubb

Barbara Grubb– Barbara Grubb, 68, is the mother of one child, six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Barbara is involved in local community theater and Hopkin County elections. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, painting, writing, acting, and spending time with her family.

LInda Pickle Hill

Linda Pickle Hill– Linda Pickle Hill, 66, is a mother of nine children, 17 grand children and 10 great-grandchildren. Linda enjoys genealogy , pow wows, horse shows, public speaking and educating about service animal rights. She is involved with Loving Friends Rescue and Animal Shelter. Linda is a Stephen minister at First United Methodist Church.

Elizabeth Wilburn

Elizabeth Wilburn– Elizabeth Wilburn, 74, is a mother of two children and one grandchild. Elizabeth loves to care for her family and is always looking for ways to give people a helping hand. She likes photography, traveling, and feeding birds in her yards. She also likes to exercise to keep herself healthy. 

Sharon Dunham

Sharon Dunham– Sharon Dunham, 64, is married to her sweet husband, James. They are parents to three dogs and two cats. Sharon enjoys gardening, sewing, small engine repair, fishing, camping, and spending time with her friends. She is a retired cook from Hopkins County Memorial Hospital. She is a leader of the TOPS group and is also an Avon Lady. 

Jan Massey

Jan Massey– Jan Massey, 79, is the mother of one daughter and has two grandchildren. Jan loves listening to music and dancing. She enjoys being around people, floral arrangement, reading and writing stories, and decorating. She loves to attend senior citizen dances and you can often find her at the senior activity center helping with fundraisers. 

Kylene Claypool

Kylene Claypool– Kylene Claypool, 87, is the mother of four children, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Kylene loves to play all kinds of games with her friends and family. She loves to read, garden, dance, bowl and study the Bible. Kylene loves to serve and help people in any way that she can.

Marjean Allen

Marjean Allen– Marjean Allen, 68, is a mother of two children and four grandchildren. Marjean is a talented painter. She enjoys spending time with her family, gardening, quilting, crafts, ceramics, painting, and photography. She is a volunteer with the AgriLife Extension service and is a member of the Garden Club with Hopkins County 4H. 

Mary Lynn Anderson

Mary Lynne Anderson– Mary Lynne Anderson, 73, is the mother of two children, four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Mary Lynne loves to travel, go antiquing, cross stitch, basket weave, listen to music, watch movies, and play mahjong and LCR with her friends. She is currently busy with her new puppy, Bella. 

Sharon Baker

Sharon Baker– Sharon Baker, 72, is the mother of two children, five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. Sharon loves to cook, sing, dance, and paint. She is involved in Main Street Theater, Community Bible Study, and she helps with the Hopkins County Veterans Memorial downtown. 

Becky Sanderson

Becky Sanderson– Becky Sanderson, 69, is the mother to one son, and the ‘second mother’ to many foreign exchange students she has hosted over the years. Becky loves crafts, floral design and cooking. Becky has a business called ‘Granny Nanny’ where she is a dog sitter/ baby sitter/ elderly sitter/ house sitter. In her spare time she enjoys dancing with friends.

Valerie Ross

Valerie Ross– Valerie Ross, 67, is the mother of three children and five grandchildren. Valerie loves to spend time with her family. She also loves to sew, work in the garden, do crafts and go to junk sales. She is involved in her church and Bible study group. 

Mary Ellis

Mary Ellis– Mary Ellis, 68, is the mother of four children and three grandchildren. Mary loves to serve in her community and make a difference in peoples’ lives. Mary enjoys singing, playing games with her friends, and she is a professional beauty consultant. 


Enola Gay Mathews will be the Emcee again this year. She will be assisted by Mike Shing, who is the other half of the “Sentimental Journey” music duo. 

They will be performing at the Pageant along with 2021 Ms Hopkins County Senior, Wilma Thompson, 2019/2020 Ms Hopkins County Senior, Vender Wright, 2017 Ms Hopkins County Senior Patsy Crist and 2010 Ms Hopkins County Senior, Stella Bagley.

This years pageant sponsor is B.T. Medical Supply.

A contestants’ tea will be sponsored by Carriage House Manor and the Cottages. The twelve contestants, five judges, emcees, sponsors and past winners will be invited to the contestants tea on Friday, June 3.

After the tea the contestants will have a Pageant rehearsal.

The twelve contestants are all selling 50/50 raffle tickets. Fifty percent of the ticket money will be presented
to the New 2022 Ms Hopkins County Senior Pageant Winner to help her pay for the state pageant expenses. The other 50% on the money will be given away during the pageant to one lucky ticker winner. You do not have to be present to win.

Tickets can be purchased at the Sulphur Springs Senior Citizens Center or from one of the twelve contestants. Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5.

There will also be a prize to the contestant who sells the most tickets. So if you have a favorite you need to buy your tickets from them so they can have a chance of winning the prize.

The Pageant is free for the public to attend. Please come out and support these wonderful ladies who have stepped out of their comfort zones and entered the pageant.
