Sulphur Springs gains grant for expanded senior center

Sulphur Springs gains grant for expanded senior center
  • PublishedApril 14, 2022

This afternoon the City received the official word that the Texas Department of Housing and Community Affairs (TDHCA) Governing Board has approved a Community Resiliency Program (CRP) award to the City of Sulphur Springs in the amount of $2,420,000 for the construction of the City of Sulphur Springs Senior Activity Center.

This award will be funded through the Community Development Block Grant – CARES Act (CDBG-CV) Program.

We anticipate going out for bid on the construction of the facility later this spring. The new center will be slightly over 11,000 sq. ft. and will include a large multi-use room, commercial kitchen area, 3 small activity rooms, and a library in addition to office and storage space.
