The No. 6 ranked Como-Pickton Lady Eagles had a big game against Alba-Golden Friday, as they picked up their 20th win of the season. Coming in with a record of 3-0, the Lady Eagles picked up their fourth district win of the season.
Mattison Buster was brilliant on the mound, throwing a no-hitter against the Lady Panthers. In five innings of action, the Lady Eagles’ ace struck out 14 batters.
She also led the team at the plate, coming up with three hits in three at bats. Como-Pickton started the scoring early, when Addi Monk drove in a run on a fielders choice to give the team a 1-0 lead in the first inning.
The Lady Eagles broke things open in the fourth inning when they drove in four runs. Sanay Diaz, Bella Romero and Buster all drove in runs in the frame.
Como-Pickton also had a great day on the base paths, with three players stealing at least two bases. As a team the Lady Eagles scored 12 runs on eight hits, improving to 4-0 in district play.
The 20-3 Lady Eagles will look to keep their hot play going with a pair of games this week. Tuesday Como-Pickton will host Detroit, before traveling to Rivercrest Friday. Coverage of both games will be provided on Front Porch News.
