No. 9 ranked Lady Cats set to take on Hallsville

After a bye on Tuesday to regroup and catch up on some much needed rest, the No. 9 ranked Sulphur Springs Lady Cats are back in action tonight with a road game against Hallsville. The Lady Cats are officially halfway through their district schedule, with Hallsville being the first team they will face in a rematch.

Sulphur Springs hosted Hallsville back on March 9, for their district opener. The Lady Cats got off to a strong start, scoring a run in the bottom of the second to get out to a 1-0 lead.

Parris Pickett is having a great year at the plate, batting .388 on the season.

Sulphur Springs kept the bats going, adding another pair of runs in the bottom of the third to give their ace Crimson Bryant a comfortable lead to work with. Bryant was lights out on the mound, mowing batters down one after another.

Bryant took a perfect game all the way into the seventh inning, needing just two more outs. Hallsville was finally able to come up with a pair of hits, one of which drove in a run, but Bryant still got the 3-1 win, striking out 16 batters along the way.

The Lady Cats are looking to complete their series sweep over Hallsville, as well as stay undefeated in district play. Currently with a record of 6-0, Sulphur Springs sits at the top of the district standings.

In district play Sulphur Springs has been terrific, outscoring their opponents 26-6, allowing just one run per game on average. Live updates during the game will be provided on the Front Porch News Facebook account, while a full game recap will be provided on Front Porch News.
