For the very first time, the Hopkins County Health Care Foundation decided to offer a $30,000 sponsorship level for the annual Lights of Life Gala. Co-Chairs Markeda Fisher and Kayla Price, along with Executive Director Shannon Barker, were unsure if anyone in the community would take up the offering, but they wanted to give it a try. In keeping with the theme, “Under the Big Top” they chose to name this level the “Ringmaster”. After crossing their fingers and hoping the projects, the hospital and the foundation itself would match up with someone’s passion or interest, it did not take long to find the right fit!

The Chairs and the Foundation Board are honored and thrilled to announce our marquee sponsor for the 2022 Under the Big Top Gala…Ringmasters Brian and Leesa Toliver!

Originally from Haskell, Texas, Brian and Leesa moved to Sulphur Springs in 2008. Since the purchase of Brian Toliver Ford Lincoln and relocation to Sulphur Springs, the Tolivers have been extremely involved in the Hopkins County Healthcare Foundation. Brian and Leesa have served on the Gala Committee for 15 years, and chaired the gala in 2015. Leesa was on the Foundation Board of Directors for six years, and served as Chair for three.

The project this year is particularly important to the Tolivers which led them to the sponsorship. Sally, their daughter-in-law, had complications during her pregnancy that forced her to seek specialists elsewhere. The new 4D sonogram machine with tele-med capability would have benefitted her and saved multiple trips out of town for the necessary care. It’s important to Brian and Leesa that other families do not have to face the added burden of travel during an already stressful pregnancy.

According to Brian and Leesa, “We all want to live in an area that has a good hospital with the latest, most up to date equipment possible. The projects chosen this year will benefit young families like our sons’ and employees’ in Hopkins County.”

“We love how close knit the Sulphur Springs community is, as well as how supportive everyone is of each other. Every year this community turns out to support the hospital’s fundraising campaigns, and we are sure this year will be no exception. We are thrilled to be able to contribute,” added the Tolivers.

The Foundation hopes many of you will attend and contribute towards the Gala or the projects themselves. For more information contact the Foundation Office at 903-438-4799 or email Shannon.barker@christushealth.org.
