Memorial service for Martha Lou Howard, age 85, of Yantis, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 19, 2022, at White Oak Baptist Church with Bro. Jimmy Rogers officiating. There will be no formal visitation. Martha passed away on Sunday, February 13, 2022, at her residence. She was born on May 5, 1936, in San Antonio, Texas, the daughter of Ray and Dorothy Winans. She married Nelson Howard on March 23, 1957. Martha worked in bookkeeping for her family construction company for many years. She played piano her whole life in her church and even continued with her dementia. She was a kindhearted lady who never met a stranger. She was an amazing cook, devoted housewife, and mother.

She is survived by sons, Kevin and Angie Howard of Yantis, TX, Kerry and Vicki Howard of Powell Butte, OR, Keenan and Lulynn Howard of Bend, OR, daughter, Kelli Salvesen and Robert of Quitman, TX, brother, Jim Winans and Janie of Greenville, TX, twelve grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 66 years, Nelson Howard, and grandson, Travis Howard.
