The Sulphur Springs Lady Cats hosted Marshall Tuesday, looking for a little bit of revenge. The Lady Cats were looking to even up the season series with Marshall, after losing 56-19 in their first match against each other.

Addisyn Wall got the scoring started for the Lady Cats, hitting a 3-pointer to give her team a 3-2 lead. Sulphur Springs never looked back in the first half, holding on to their lead for the remainder of the first two frames.

Kaylee Carter joined in on the scoring early, grabbing an offensive rebound and putting it back in. Later in the first frame just knocked down a jumper, as the Lady Cats built a strong 15-6 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Carter continued her strong play in the second quarter, scoring on back-to-back possessions, one of which came via the 3-pointer. Wall added another layup in the final minute of the half, sending the Lady Cats into the locker room with a 27-17 lead.

Marshall came out of the locker room with a new energy, going on a quick 12-2 run to tie things up at 29-29. The Lady Cats only scored three points in the third quarter, all three of which came from Trinity Jefferson, who scored on an offensive rebound, as well as knocked down one free throw.

Trailing 35-30, Wall took over the scoring really in the fourth quarter, helping the Lady Cats build a 37-36 lead. Wall knocked down a pair of 3-pointers, as well as one free throw, giving Sulphur Springs a huge boost of momentum.

Unfortunately for the Lady Cats, they were unable to capitalize on the momentum, as Marshall was able to put the game away, winning by a final score of 48-41. Jefferson scored the final four points of the game for Sulphur Springs with a pair of layups.

Wall was the leading scorer for the Lady Cats, finishing with a solid 14-point outing. Seven of her 14 points came to open the fourth quarter.

Carter and Jefferson each finished in double-digits as well, putting up 12 points and 10 points respectively. Jolee Wilson added three points to the Toal, while Jasmine Taylor finished with two points.

The Lady Cats are back in action with a road match Friday, where they will face Pine Tree. In the first outing between Sulphur Springs and Pine Tree, the Lady Cats walked away with a 49-29 win.
