Monday was a very special day at Miller Grove High School, especially for one student athlete specifically. Miller Grove’s Bradley Nordin made it official, signing with Southwestern Assemblies of God University to continue his cross country career after high school.

Nordin was a member of the 2021 State cross country team, as well a member of the Regional Finalist baseball team in 2021. Nordin’s journey to earning a cross country scholarship was a bit of an unconventional route, making his signing day that much more sweet.

After running for a short stint his sophomore year, Nordin sat out his junior year, before returning to the sport his senior season. Nordin came back with a bang, as his team won state, with him now getting the opportunity to continue his career at SAGU.

“I really took a lot of inspiration from my coach, coach Walker, he went to [SAGU], he actually introduced me to the coach,” Nordin said. “And I really felt like this would be the best fit for me, just because they were willing to take me in and give me an opportunity after only running for one year.”

On top of continuing his cross country career, Nordin plans on becoming a math teacher and a coach one day. Nordin has a lot to be excited about and spoke about some of those things.

“I’m really excited to get to know my teammates,” Nordin said. “Because you know, that’s a big part of being on a team, is being able to cooperate and have a good relation ship with your teammates. I’m also excited to get to meet the coaches and just get a feel for the atmosphere.”
