Wildcats set to host Hallsville

The No. 14 ranked Sulphur Springs Wildcats are set for action Tuesday, as they will host the 23-2 Hallsville Bobcats. Both teams enter the game as the only two teams in the district who are still undefeated in district play.

So far this season against common opponents both the Wildcats and Bobcats are both 3-0. Both teams had very similar outcomes against Henderson, as Sulphur Springs won 73-43, while Hallsville won 74-43.

Both teams have already gone up against Marshall as well, though the final outcomes weren’t near as similar. The Wildcats hosted Marshall in their district opener, completely dominating the game in a 75-48 win. Hallsville handled Marshall fairly easily as well, though the final score was much closer at 56-42.

Finally, the last team both Sulphur Springs and Hallsville have played is Longview Pine Tree. The Wildcats had a huge road win over Pine Tree, walking away with an 85-51 win. Hallsville hosted Pine Tree and cruised to an easy 74-53 win.

Sulphur Springs has gotten off to an incredible start, racking up a record of 18-7 and climbing to No. 14 in the TABC rankings. Of the Wildcats seven of their losses have come in tournament action, with their only other loss coming at the hands of Arlington Grace Prep. 

The Wildcats will be looking to stay undefeated both in district play, as well at undefeated at home this year. The game is set to begin at 7:30 p.m. Coverage of the game will be provided on Front Porch News.
