Obituary For Charles Aaron Brannon

Charles Aaron Brannon of Sulphur Springs, TX went to be with his Heavenly Father on January 1, 2022, at the age of 73 years old. Charles was born October 14, 1948, in Cooper, TX to A.J. Brannon of Sulphur Springs, TX and Melba Faye Brannon, who preceded him in death. Charles was a loving husband, son, dad, Peeps, family member and friend. He leaves behind his loving wife, Dee, his sister, Mary Hickson of Seven Points, TX, 3 children, 2 stepchildren, 11 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter and many other family members and friends.

Charles proudly served his country as a Petty Officer in the Naval Seabees, serving 2 tours of duty in Vietnam, and receiving 4 commendations of service. He has 3 beautiful children with his first wife, Anita Jean Brannon, who preceded him in death on their 27th wedding anniversary on April 27, 1995. Charles adored his 3 kids and often shared how proud he was of them: Daughter Kathy Granger of Melissa, TX, her husband, Jason, and their three boys, Ryder, Kason, and Easton; Daughter Karin Holacka of Rowlett, TX, her husband, Jim, and their three boys, Jarin, Joe and wife Susan and their daughter Haley, and James and wife Courtney; Son Rusty Brannon of Sulphur Springs, TX, his wife Laura, and son Noah.

 

Charles married Dee Ward on November 11, 1995. At this time, he embraced and loved his stepdaughter Tisha White of Albany, LA, her husband Jamie, and their 3 children, Seth, Olivia and Abby; Stepson Russell Crayton of Sulphur Springs, TX, his wife Lisa, and son Dylan. The Lord and family meant everything to Charles, aka “Peeps”, but he also adored his church family at New Beginnings Fellowship Baptist Church, where he had served as an Elder since 2012. Charles was a Realtor at Century 21 First Group and enjoyed working alongside and laughing with his work family. Whether constructing houses, fishing, or mowing the pasture, the talents, kindness, infectious laugh, and Godly counsel of Charles Brannon are memories that will be carried in the hearts of many. He loved the Lord with his whole heart and is praising His glorious Name for eternity.

 

Charles’ life will be celebrated with a visitation at West Oak Funeral Home at 500 S. Hillcrest Dr, Sulphur Springs, TX 75482 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, January 7, 2022. Memorial services will be on Saturday, January 8, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at New Beginnings Fellowship Baptist Church at 155 N. Jackson St, Sulphur Springs, TX 75482 followed by a burial at Brashear Cemetery.
