The Texas Association of Basketball Coaches released their newest update to their weekly rankings, and the Sulphur Springs Wildcats continue to climb, hitting a new peak at No. 15. Since debuting in the rankings back on Dec. 7, the Wildcats have continued to climb their way up.
The Wildcats have opened this season with a very strong start, winning 17 of their first 24 games. They hit the ground very first, winning their first six games, as well as nine of their first 10.
Since then Sulphur Springs has suffered a few losses, but all of which came at the hands of strong opponents, including ranked 6A schools. With their non-district games officially out of the way, the Wildcats will have nothing but district games on the remainder of their schedule.

So far Sulphur Springs has played just one district game, which was a home game against Marshall, back on Dec. 21. The Wildcats won the district opener handedly, cruising to a 75-48 win.
The now No. 15 ranked Wildcats are back in action Tuesday, with a road district game against Longview Pine Tree. Pine Tree has been in a slump of late, losing each of their last four games, three of which were by double-digits.
Tuesday’s game in Pine Tree is set to begin at 7:30 p.m. Coverage of the game will be provided on Front Porch News.
