Obituary For Margaret Lane Ragan

Funeral services for Margaret Lane Ragan, age 81, of Sulphur Springs, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 17, 2021, at Brashear Baptist Church with Bro. David Burns officiating. Interment will follow at South Liberty Cemetery with Randy Millsap, Bart Millsap, Barry Smith, Blake Smith, and Brandon Darrow serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Patrick Dial, Jay Gaston, Kyle Crow, Patrick Dial III, and Caleb Daniels. Visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, December 16, 2021, at West Oaks Funeral Home. Margaret passed away at home surrounded by family on Tuesday, December 14, 2021. She was born on September 1, 1940, in Hopkins County, the daughter of Albert Quitman Millsap and Goldie Wells Byrd Millsap. She married James Ragan on January 10, 1959, in the Shirley Community. She graduated from Miller Grove High School in 1959. She later worked as a housewife, caregiver, teacher’s aide for Miller Grove ISD, and at Temco Aircraft in Greenville for many years. She was a faithful Christian and a member of Brashear Baptist Church. Margaret is survived by husband of 61 years, James Ragan, daughters, Sherry Dial and husband Patrick of Sulphur Springs, Shelly Gaston and husband Jay of Emory, twin sister, Mary Smith of Sulphur Springs,  grandchildren, Madison Penny of Sulphur Springs, Bailey Daniels and husband Caleb of Bogata, Kyle Crow and wife Jake of Fairfield, Patrick Dial of Sulphur Springs, great-grandson, Ragan Dwayne Crow, and one on the way, Parker Dean Daniels. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Weldon Millsap, Junior Millsap, and sisters, Gertrude Brand, and Louise Millsap. The family would like to give a special thank you to Margaret’s caregivers, Opal Price, Mary Robinson, and Heart to Heart Hospice.
