The Dallas Cowboys, who are coming off a pair of back-to-back wins over the New Orleans Saints and the Washington Football Team, are hitting the road once again to face the New York Giants Sunday. The Cowboys will be looking to complete the series sweep over New York, after beating them earlier this year by a final score of 44-20.

The two teams enter the game in exact opposite scenarios, with Dallas being 9-4 and looking for their third consecutive win, while the Giants are 4-9 and looking to avoid a third consecutive loss. Despite it being a road game for the Cowboys, they enter the match as 10.5-point favorites.

Although Dallas enters the game looking to pick up their third consecutive win, fans have still been looking for more from the team. The Cowboys beat Washington by a final score of 27-20 last Sunday, but they led 24-0 at the end of the first half, allowing 20-second half points, while scoring just three points of their own in the final two frames.

Most of their struggles have come on the offensive end, with neither the run game or passing game looking as good as they did earlier in the year. In the win against Washington quarterback Dak Prescott threw for 211 yards and one touchdown, while throwing two interceptions.

The week prior, in their 27-17 victory over New Orleans, he had a similar stat line, throwing for 238 yards with one touchdown and one interception. In that same time span running back Ezekiel Elliott rushed for exactly 45 yards in each of the two games.

While Dallas should be able to pick up a victory this week with similar production, they will need to pick up their offensive performance by the time the playoffs roll around. Perhaps their saving grace this season has been the defense, which has forced turnovers at a much higher rate than fans are used to seeing.

As a team, the Cowboys lead the league so far with 20 interceptions, nine of which belong to Trevon Diggs. Not only do they lead the league in picks, they are also in the top half of the league in sacks with 31.

If Dallas can continue to put pressure on opposing quarterbacks and forcing turnovers, they will have a chance to beat anybody. With four games remaining on their schedule, the offense has more than enough time to find their rhythm and get in a flow by the time the postseason rolls around.

Sunday’s match against the New York Giants is set for noon and will air on FOX. Coverage of the game will be published on Front Porch News.
