Multiple Wildcats take All-District honors

The All-District awards for District 8-5A were announced this week, after all of the teams within the district have officially been eliminated from the playoffs. A number of Sulphur Springs Wildcats were recognized for the strong seasons they had, both on and off the field.
Despite no Wildcats taking a superlative award or making First Team All-District, there were a few who did make Second Team All-District, starting with defensive end Nick Cantillo. The junior led the team in tackles for loss with five, and even had the second most tackles on the team with 68. Cantillo also had one sack on the season and hurried the quarterback on three different occasions.
Junior tight end Luke Caton was also named Second Team All-District, after having a strong season both as a receiving and blocking tight end. Caton had 12 catches for 109 yards this season and caught a touchdown for the Wildcats. He will be looking to add to those numbers next year in his senior season.
Junior wide receiver CJ Williams was named Second Team All-District as well, after having a solid season in which he contributed to in a number of different ways. Williams led the team in a number of categories, including catches (46) and receiving touchdowns (7). Williams had 458 receiving yards this season and even had 147 rushing yards, as well as three rushing touchdowns, giving him a total of 10 touchdowns on the year. Williams also took snaps at the quarterback position, showcasing his talents in a number of different ways.

Senior Colby Albritton was also named Second Team All-District punter this year. On top of seeing roles within both the offense and defense, Albritton was recognized for his work punting this season. The senior had 15 punts for 522 yards and landed four punts inside the 20-yard line.
