The All-District awards for District 18 A-AA were recently announced, with a number of Hopkins County athletes being awarded for their strong performances.

Bailee Miller of Quinlan Boles took home the District MVP award, after leading her team to a very strong season. Boles went an impressive 12-0 in district play, before going four rounds deep in the playoffs.

Offensive Player of the Year went to Miller Grove’s Lainy Burnett, who had a standout season for the Lady Hornets. Burnett consistently led the offensive attack for the Lady Hornets, finishing with double-digit kills on a regular basis.

Defensive Player of the Year went to Cumby’s Ashlyn Hudson who played a big role in the Lady Trojans’ success this season. Hudson came up big in more ways than one for Cumby, consistently coming up with both digs and blocks. In their opening round playoff match Hudson had seven blocks and six digs, just one of her many strong performances on the season.

Burnett and Hudson weren’t the only Hopkins County athletes to win superlative awards, however, as Como-Pickton’s Bella Romero won Libero of the Year and North Hopkins’ Sailan Adair took home the Newcomer of the Year award. Romero, taking the award home as a freshman and Adair will look to continue their success over into next season.
