The first annual Coats for Kids drive was a success, according to its organizers. Lead organizers Bethany Ashby and Danielle Cordero report the group took in $16,250 in donations and over 250 coats for local youth that will need them for warmth in the coming cold months.

“I simply cannot say thank you enough to every single person who supported this cause,” Ashby said. Both individual donors and corporate sponsors contributed to the cause, Ashby noted. Furthermore, she said,  the generosity will provide local children right here in Hopkins County with warm coats for the coming winter.

“This is the true definition of support local and we are humbled by the results,” Ashby said.
